  • Day 1 ARRIVE DELHI, INDIA

    On your arrival in Delhi we will have our representatives assist in your transfer to hotel in Delhi. Relax for the rest of the day and prepare for the next days drive to Manali.

  • Day 2 DELHI TO MANALI (12 drive hours)

    The guests will start from Delhi for Manali in an AC Volvo bus from Janpath, CP Delhi. The bus leaves everyday at 5 pm in the evening and will take 12 hours to reach Manali.

  • Day 3 MANALI LOCAL EXCURSION

    On reaching Manali our representative will be at the bus stop to receive the guests and will transfer the guests to the hotel in Manali. Breakfast will be served at the hotel after which the guests will be free to explore Manali, old Manali and enjoy lunch at different café’s there. Overnight stay at hotel in Manali.

  • Day 4 MANALI TO JISPA (5-6 drive hours)

    After breakfast at the hotel the guests will move on their journey towards Manali to Jispa that falls in Kelong valley. The group will have lunch at the top of Rotang la, there are ATV rides for interested travelers. On reaching Jispa check in hotel and rest for the day. Walk around the pristine valley and the wilderness of Himalayas. Overnight stay at a hotel in Jispa.

  • Day 5 JISPA TO LEH (9-10 drive hours)

    After an early breakfast the guests will leave on their drive for Leh from Jispa. The drive will take you across the changing landscape of rich evergreen forests of the Himalayas to the trans-Himalayan geography of the cold desert of Ladakh. The drive is considered one of the best drives in the world. The group will have lunch on the way at Zing Zing bar or Spang. On reaching Leh check-in a guesthouse and sit for a cup of hot tea and Barley bread in the family sitting room. Stretch yourself after the long drive from Manali at the guesthouse and relax for the day. Dinner and all meals will be served in the family sitting room at 7:30 pm.

  • Day 6 LEH OLD TOWN HERITAGE WALK: (3 hours walk around the city)

    After a healthy organic breakfast at the guesthouse, the group will start for the heritage walk from the guesthouse towards the market. On this walk, Mr. Gyatso, a storyteller, will escort us through the walk. We will start by visiting the museum built by the Leh Old Town Restoration Initiative (LOTI) group, with locally available materials and infrastructure. The structure evolves around a skyscraper (Thokskar) on the top floor and has relics of Ladakh. From there we will enter the old town streets where the entire landscape is still as it was in the times of the kings, some of which have been restored by LOTI. The walk will take us through King Singay Namgyal’s palace. After finishing the walk around the old town the guests can explore the market and eateries. Overnight stay at the home-stay.

  • Day 7 LEH TO NUBRA VALLEY: (120 km/ 5 drive hours)

    The guests will start for their day’s ride to Nubra valley. We will start the ride from the guesthouse in Scorpio. On crossing K top 18380 feet, the world’s highest motor-able road in the world we will reach the Shayok river flowing from China and through India flows into Pakistan. At Shayok river rafts with professional guides will be waiting for the group and we will raft our way into Nubra valley to Hundar village. On reaching Hundar the group will switch to double hump Bactrian Camels and will enjoy the ride through Sea buckthorn bushes, wild pastures and Sand dunes to Organic retreat in Hundar, Nubra. The group will be received warmly at the retreat with a hot cup of Tea. The group shall enjoy the evening bonfire before dinner is served.

  • Day 8 NUBRA VALLEY LOCAL DAY

    Spend the day in Nubra valley walking around the small town of Diskit, visiting the monastery and 100 foot buddha statue and relaxing by the oasis of Hunder village by a desert stream.

  • Day 9 NUBRA VALLEY TO HEMIS SHUKPACHEN (4 drive hours, 2-3 hours mountain biking)

    After a leisurely breakfast, the group will start on the back journey to Leh. On the way back once we reach K top mountain bikes will be waiting for the group. The group will gear up and start the descent towards Leh on mountain bikes escorted by a car following the bikes. As and when the clients choose to ride in the car, they can and the bikes will be brought in the following camper. The group will drive to Himisshukpachen village for their trek the day after and will rest for the evening. Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm.

  • Day 10 SHAM TREK Day 1: (Hemis shukpachen to Yangthang 3-4 hour mild trek)

    Today we will start for our first day of Sham trek that starts from Likir. The trek will take you across villages in Sham valley, which is famous for its Apricots. The four to five hours trek will be guided by a local villager and will end in Yangthang village. We will be on our way back to Leh from Yangthang.

  • Day 11 SHAM TREK Day 2: (Yangthang to Saspol 3 - 4 hours mild trek)

    After breakfast at the home-stay leave for your days trek to Saspol village. The trek will take you through mountain gorges, rural life in Ladakh and a short hike to Saspol caves will give a glimpse into the ancient settlement of Ladakh while most of it was still underwater. On reaching Saspol we will check into heritage homestay and relax for the day.

  • Day 12 SASPOL TO MATHO / ZANSKAR RIVER RAFTING

    After breakfast drive from Saspol village to Nimo village for a thrilling 2-hour rafting in the mighty Zanskar river. This activity is optional and guests can choose not to do it if they don’t feel well after the trek or have any prior medical restrictions. After the rafting we will drive to Matho village around an hour away towards Leh Manali highway. On reaching Matho the guests will check-in The Hermit home-stay and stay with the local family.   • Day 13 MATHO RETREAT DAY

    Breakfast will be served to our guests at 8 am. After breakfast the guests will visit the hydro mill, sacred stupas, the monastery and the irrigation pond. The walk resumes back in the green house garden where guests can water and harvest vegetables and herbs for Lunch.

    A certified herbal healer will visit the farm in the afternoon for readings. The guests can ask about health and healing issues to the healer and talk about their diet etc. After the sessions lunch will be served. The guests will have Chang and BBQ dinner in the garden. Sleeping early and relishing on the herbal tea as much as possible is a requisite for the program.

CHANGES TO YOUR ITINERARY

For your best interest, sometimes it might have to make necessary alterations to your holiday itinerary. Where practical, we will advice you before you depart from your hometown, although occasionally we may be forced to make changes en route. We will keep you informed at all times.

 

MOUNTAIN FLIGHT DELAYS

Bad weather in mountainous regions can cause flight delays. These problems mainly happen in Ladakh region of India. If the delay is extended it may be necessary for us to re-route the trek and tour, perhaps to an area more readily accessed by road transport. We do not accept responsibility for charges incurred as result of flight delays and missing international flight connections. However, we will make every effort to assist you.

 

INHERENT RISKS OR DANGERS

You understand and accept that your proposed tour may expose you to levels of physical exertion to which you may not be accustomed to or be exposed to inherent dangers when traveling through remote areas which may be subject to, among other things, unfavorable political, physical, health or climatic conditions. INSURANCE

You must purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes a provision for helicopter rescue when you pay your deposit.

 

YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS

We strongly recommend that you visit your doctor and dentist before your holiday. You must ask your doctor about current inoculation requirements. Full details of pre-existing medical conditions must be forwarded to us when you book. Older clients or clients with pre-existing medical conditions may require a letter from your doctor clearing them for the trek and Beyond Himalayas Pvt. Ltd. reserve the right to check these documents prior to confirmation of tours and treks

 

PASSPORT

A valid passport is required for all tourists. The passports must be valid for minimum of six months from the start of journey, with at least two clean pages per country to be visited.

 

VISA REQUIREMENTS

A valid visa is required for the entire destination. You should always consult your doctor or nearest travel clinic for the latest information on recommended health precautions, both vaccination and malaria prophylaxis.

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

 

GENERAL

Extensive medical kits are carried on all trips. In addition, medical oxygen and Portable Altitude Chambers are carried as a precaution on high altitude treks and climbing expeditions. All meals on trek are prepared specifically for your group to strict hygiene standards, and sterile washing facilities are provided.

 

HIGH ALTITUDE

Sickness from altitude can affect anyone. Serious problems are avoided by building in rest and acclimatization. For normal symptoms a drop in altitude, or time in portable acclimatization chamber, leads to quick recovery.

All trips are graded. There are Easy, Moderate, Challenging and Mountaineering categories.

Travel insurance that includes helicopter evacuation is highly appreciated

 

AGE LIMITS

Client over sixty are required to complete a medical and personal travel history questionnaire. Persons under sixteen can join specified family departures and private groups.
