Overview

Kang Yatse is a mountain located at the end of the Markha Valley in the Hemis National Park. It has two main summits - the lower western peak – Kang Yatse 1 at 6300m and the higher eastern peak – Kang Yatse 2 at 6496m. Kang Yatse 1 is more technical and less preferred.

It is as challenging as it is rewarding. The tough steep climb up opens to a vista of unimaginable beauty as the peak, being the highest, overlooks the surrounding mountain ranges. Distant peaks of East Karakoram are visible on a clear day. Beautiful green valley stretching lazily beneath with clear spring water running with a calm intensity in the deep river gorges that run like veins through the region of Ladakh that the world has come to love so much.
